Order Status and Tracking

Use our fast, convenient Order Tracking feature online to locate your order, check status and track your shipment.
To use this feature, please have your order number or customer purchase order number available. Other search options include cart number (for orders created online), quote number and first and last name (available for Individual/Personal accounts only).

Once you have located the order, tracking the shipment is fast and simple by clicking on the “truck” icon.

How Soon Can I Expect My Order?

Please allow 1-3 business days for items shipping parcel (UPS Ground) from one of our distribution centers. Items and orders shipping via freight truck from our distribution centers may take up to one week. Please add an additional 1-3 business days for summer delivery due to heavy back to school order volume.

Delivery times for items shipping direct from our manufacturers are variable. Most items ship within 2-4 weeks. This may be longer in summer due to to heavy back to school volume. Normally, this includes classroom and office furniture and equipment. For a more estimated delivery time, please Contact Us and we would be happy to contact our manufacturer for an estimated shipment date.

Back-Ordered/Out of Stock Items

Classroom, art and office supplies that are not in stock in our distribution center at the time of the ordering will normally ship within 30 days. This may be longer in summer due to heavy back to school order volume. For an estimated delivery time, please Contact Us and we would be happy to provide this information.

Notification of out of stock, or back-ordered items is included on your packing slip. Please check the notations near the top of the form

Tax Exempt Status

To update your tax exempt status, please submit your current Tax Exempt certificate. This can be emailed to Acct_Mod@schoolspecialty.com, or simply submit the form along with your purchase order.

If your tax was calculated in error, please Contact Us for a credit/debit request. Please have the School Specialty order number and/or invoice number available.

How Do I Read My Packing Slip?

Your School Specialty packing slip contains helpful information that may answer some of the questions you have about your order.

Our packing slip will notify you of any items currently on back-order (out of stock), as well as identify the items that may be shipping from a different School Specialty distribution center or direct from the manufacturer.

In addition to these details, the packing slip contains your School Specialty order number, as well as your customer purchase order number, if provided.

Special information and notations are included where ordered items are no longer available or have been discontinued by the manufacturer.

How Do I Change Or Cancel My Order?

If you must change or cancel part or all of your order, please Contact Us as quickly as possible. Our Customer Care team will make every effort to honor this request.

Please be aware that it may not always be possible to complete the cancellation or change request. In some cases, the order may already be processing in our warehouse or in transit. Additionally, some furniture and equipment items are custom made to order and may not be able to be cancelled.

You will be notified within one business day regarding the status of your cancellation/change request.

How Do I Find My Account Number?

To locate your customer account number on your invoice, statement or packing slip, please review the information located in the upper right hand corner of the document. Your customer account number is displayed there.
